Ashley Pate is from Atlanta, Georgia. She attended McNair and Cedar Grove High School, and she went to Georgia State University for college. For law school, Ashley attended Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. Ashley became a lawyer because she saw a gap in representation for minority and culturally diverse communities on issues that affected them on a personal level.
She strives to be courtroom ready as an attorney, and that is what drew her to Haug Law Group. In law school, Ashley participated in mock trial competitions, moot court competition, was a line editor for the law review, received an award for excellence in appellate advocacy, and received an award for excellence in legal writing and research. These experiences focused on oral arguments and persuasion, which also set Haug Law Group apart from the rest.
Ashley has been at Haug Law Group for about a month, and her favorite part of her job is reading cases and opinions. She loves to formulate motions and objections for the evidence and building case theories. Ashley likes waking up knowing she gets to do something she loves, and she feels very accomplished.
One myth about personal injury attorneys that Ashley would like to address is that personal injury lawyers are all about money. Ashley and her colleagues work very hard and spend many hours preparing to argue the best case for their clients. Advocacy requires passion and a genuine desire to make a difference. According to Ashley, if someone is only out for money, it would be difficult to withstand the long nights needed to survive this field.
What sets Ashley apart is that she has a background in the study of language, culture, and politics of different regions: The Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America. In addition to personal injury, Ashley’s early legal career was focused on asylum and refugee populations, immigration law, and family law. Ashley has personal knowledge of how to advocate for clients during complicated and difficult moments. Ashley says these experiences opened doors for the Haug Law Group to develop better, more genuine connections with our clients.
In her free time, Ashley likes to partake in photography, oil painting, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with her daughter, Taylor.
I can’t say enough great things about Haug Law Group. After my accident, I was hurt, depressed, and frustrated. Karla and Billy were very professional, kind, and extremely helpful through my treatment, next steps, and to the resolution of my case. They communicated very well, checked in to see how I was doing, and I always knew the status of my case. They both brought their 100% for me, and I’m certain they do the same with all of their clients. If I ever needed assistance such as this again, I wouldn’t call anyone else. Thank you guys for all you have done. You made the resolution of a terrible situation bearable, and even pleasant!! You two were wonderful to work with!
